It's official! The judges have voted and determined the winners for the J.C. Hart Live the Life Video Contest. We'd like to again thank all of our entrants for taking the time to arrange and submit your videos. It has been a thrill to watch and follow the contest, and it is amazing to have had such a great response. Over the past few months the J.C. Hart Company and our communities have started to become known as the "fun" place to live with the "fun" videos. We're so glad you have shared your enjoyment of your communities. We can't thank you enough.

Before we announce the prize winners we'd like to recognize a contestant that made this contest even more special. Ron & Kili have been an inspiration. The story Ron shared with us through this contest and his video touched so many and spread across the internet more than any other. His story allowed him to reconnect with old friends, helped our little contest to spread to 37 countries, and gave us an outlook on life that we should all be fortunate enough to have. While Ron & Kili did not win a contest prize, Mr. Hart and the J.C. Hart family of associates would like to award them a special Presidential Award for taking the time to share their story and love for their Bayshore apartment home. We can't thank you enough.

Best Use of Audio: Whether you are a hip-hop/rap music fan or not, this tune gets you bobbin' your head. We never thought someone would enter an original rap song for the contest, and this was a great effort. We love it, we love it, we love it, love it, love it! Best Decorated Apartment: While the other nominees gave us glimpses of their nicely decorated homes, Jamie M's grand tour video helped her to win the majority of the votes. Her video gave us the most glimpses into what it's like to make her Gateway Crossing Apartment, "Home." Congratulations Jamie M., JBMERS: Live the Life - J.C. Hart video contest. She's won $1000 in Visa Gift Cards.

Most Original/Creative Concept: 800 Stills!!! Seriously!?!? What an amazing concept for stop-motion video and extremely creative. Kyle M. swept the voting in this category both online and with the final judges. Congratulations Kylelcore: JC Hart Video Contest – Bayshore!! He's won a brand new HD Sony Video Camera. (Sorry, we know you need a new computer, but maybe someone will be willing to trade?)

Best Video Production: This came down to one vote deciding the winner. As one of the early entrants in the contest, Jared E. received many complements early on and inspired a number of entries that came in later. The details included in the video explaining why Linden Square is a great place to live were extremely well arranged, he wrote an original score, and he did the video in HD. Funniest Video: This was one of the more viral videos of the contest and a favorite in the online voting for a few categories. Even people that have not seen VH1 Behind the Music or MTV Cribs appreciated the comedy behind this video. The commercial in the middle was funny in its own right as well. For making us laugh time and time again we congratulate Matt M., theneck20: JC Hart Video Contest: Ratman. He's won a 40" Samsung HDTV.

Best Overall Video: The winner for best overall video won by just 1 vote with Mr. Hart casting the winning vote himself. With an original score, a creative and original concept, and a video that truly spoke to the message for "Why I Love My J.C. Hart Apartment Community or Apartment" we'd like to congratulate Vanessa Robles and Tricia Allen for their "Live the Life High" video. Or, as we like to call it, the "It's a place to be me!" video. Fantastic job! They've won Free Rent for a Year!

Below is a letter from Ron & Kili. They tried to post as a comment but it was too large so we have shared it here as a separate blog post. Thank you Ron & Kili for sharing your thoughts.

Thoughts from Ron & Kili.... We want to thank our thousands of loyal supporters and fans, both in the USA, and 37 countries all over our universe. We did our best for each of you. To compete fairly, even though we had some detractors who expressed their opinions, the Ron & Kili video did not merit to be considered to be a finalist in the Live the Life contest. I chose that format for our video. It was to be a video with one main purpose and message to accomplish. The Ron & Kili video was to inspire, and to motivate people to enjoy the precious gift of life we are granted by Our Creator. Yes, our video was different from our competitors. We are grateful to Mr. Hart, Mark Juleen, and the J.C. Hart Team Associates, who deemed our video to be considered a finalist for Best Overall Video.

They gave Kili and me the opportunity to inspire, and to motivate our loyal supporters and fans in the USA and 37 countries throughout the world. We are proud of our video and our accomplished mission. Apparently, our thousands of supporters thought it was worthy to be a winner as Best Overall Video. However, the panel of 7 judges did not agree with my supporters. I respect their judgement.

In my 74 years of life, I have encountered many forms of adversity as challenges to overcome, as a victor. The only true contest to Live the Life, is my positive attitude to overcome sadness, disappointment, heartbreak, and yes life changing challenges to survive the paralysis of polio, high risk spinal cord surgery, and potential danger of dying with a serious Sepsis urinary infection. To Live My Life, I had two choices. I could choose to have a positive attitude, with faith in God, to meet with determination, and a spirit to never quit, nor give up, and to the best of my ability to face my challenges and overcome them with success. The other choice was to choose to remain bitter and angry with the hand I was dealt, and wallow in self-pity. I chose to remain positive about living.

In my life, the only tow judges, whom I consider to be important, and I strive to have their votes, is God, and my dearly departed Mother, Fannie Hazel Henson. They taught me the value of high moral principle of respect, and to lift up and edify your competitors in life.

So, for all our supporters and fans, Ron & Kili Henson, leave you with this legacy, seek to inspire, be a positive motivator, and adhere to the value high moral principle of respect and edification for your competitors who challenge you to truly Live the Life.

We are most humbled for your loyal support, love, and votes. Kili and I love you. We will always cherish your willingness to stand with us. It is because of your love, support, and votes that we consider ourselves to be Winners to Live Life with Joy! God Bless You!!

Online Voting Winners

Well, we've had some controversy with the voting, but we appreciate everyone hanging in there sharing their videos, promoting it to their friends, etc., etc. While we know the voting system wasn't an exact science, it was a true test for who could have the most viral video and best online campaigning. Thanks to everyone commenting, voting, and sharing.

So, here are the final results of the online voting for each category. As I explained in the "Voting" post a few weeks ago, the online vote winner receives 2 votes going into the final judging. The judging will be from a 7 person panel and the winners in each category will need a majority to win. If it's close in the final voting, the online votes could make a difference.

Announcing the 2009 Live the Life Video Contest Finalists

Hello, and thanks for visiting the J.C. Hart Apartment Communities Live the Life Video Contest Finalist blog. I'd first like to thank everyone for following, commenting, rating, and of course submitting your videos for our contest on YouTube.com. It has been so much fun to see the creativity and love you have given to your communities. The past few days have been so challenging as it's clear how much effort each of you put into your entries. But, we had to narrow it down.

We're starting with a clean slate for commenting and voting for the finalist videos. This blog will accumulate new comments and provides a way for viewers to vote for their favorite in each category over the next three weeks. On the right side of this page you will see links to the different categories, and each page contains the videos for the nominees and the voting tool. Voting will end on March 31st, 2009 and the winners will be announced on April 8, 2009. All prizes will be awarded according to the official rules.

Videos receiving the most votes it their category here online will be weighed as a percentage of the final voting at J.C. Hart. So, please have your friends, family, & neighbors vote for their favorites. Thanks again so much for participating, and enjoy your day.

Hello everyone. The support from your friends, family, and neighbors the past few days has been amazing. We can't wait to determine the winners. That being said, I would like to address how the final judging/voting will go for the contest.

J.C. Hart Company has selected 7 final judges to vote for the prize winners. Each judge will cast 1 vote for their favorite in each category. In addition to those votes, the video receiving the most online votes will earn 2 votes. The voting for each category will have a total of 9 votes with the winner receiving a majority from the judges or from earning votes by winning the online voting. Trust me, if the voting is close those 2 votes could mean a lot.
